Big Data ETL Engineer - Mid-Level Developer

Mid-Level Developer with experience developing REST web services, enterprise APIS, and asynchronous workflows for enterprise integration and B2B integration. Ability to independently design, develop, test, and release software to production.


  • Design, build, and test RESTful web services and re-usable software components.

  • Ensure the web-services are integrated effectively into asynchronous workflows and user facing APIs/interfaces.

  • Develop integration workflows using an ESB framework.

  • Work with product owners and colleagues to interpret future request and develop software in Agile design, build, and test cycles.

  • Check code into our continuous integration pipeline (Github) to incrementally build our overall system and receive immediate feedback on build performance.

  • Develop unit and integration tests which will be automatically run by the build pipeline.


  • Expertise in Java & RESTful API development.

  • Strong hands on Java, J2EE programming and scripting language experience (Groovy, Python, Node.js).

  • Optional experience with AngularJS, Spring MVC Framework.

  • Strong working knowledge of modern Java-related/SOA-related frameworks and ability to develop design patterns for specific technical problems/stereotypes.

  • Experience with Enterprise Service Bus such as Mule soft ESB or any similar ESB tools.

  • Strong working knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and associated concepts such as XML/JSON Schemas, SOAP, Service Mediation/ESB, Policy Management, Governance, Messaging, etc.

  • Experience with enterprise RDBMS.

  • Core java fundamentals, strong computer science fundamentals.

Education and experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.

  • Minimum 2-3 years experience.

Knowledge and skills

  • Agile software development.

  • Software systems testing methodology, including execution of test plans, debugging, and testing scripts and tools.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language. Ability to effectively communicate design proposals and negotiate options.
