GM Financial Financial Statements Reporting Sr. Analyst in Monterrey, Mexico
The position is responsible for coordinating the timely and accurate preparation of USGAAP and MXGAAP monthly Financial Statements (incl. Regulatory and Statutory Reporting). Working under the leadership of Financial Statements and Regulatory Reporting Manager, this position includes responsibility for preparing the trial balance, variance analysis reporting, implementing controls aligned with GMF accounting policy and preparing and providing information to internal and external auditors and the Regulator (CNBV, BANXICO, BMV). This position requires strong leadership and communication skills coupled with the ability to work effectively as one team with both internal (Treasury, FSS, Tax, FP&A, etc.) and external counterparts (Deloitte, CNBV, BANXICO, BMV).
Accounting month end activities
Prepare month end Trial Balances under USGAAP (2 legal entities and consolidated).
Prepare and compile explanation of month end variances.
Prepare USGAAP reserve for GMF Mexico and GMF Peru.
Prepare monthly pension plan accrual entries.
Validate Intercompany balances (B/S & P&L) including Regional charges from IO countries.
Preparing USGAAP accounts reconciliations.
Prepare reconciliation between USGAAP to LOCALGAAP balances.
Statutory Financial Statements & Regulatory Reports
Prepare Statutory Financial Statements and supplementary notes according to the accounting requirements of CNBV CUB (Circular Unica de Bancos) for financial institutions.
To ensure timely delivery of Financial Statements all the users of financial information (CNBV, BANXICO, BMV, AMFE, Banks, and Rating Agencies) based on a calendar for deliverables.
Others
Support internal and external audit requirements
Follow up with teammates of the accounting entries needed to complete the FS
Support SOX requirements
Design and mapping accounting business processes
Prepare close metrics
Prepare documents to require new accounts
Support in the review and validation of the financial information of GMF Peru prepared by an external accountant
*This role requires time flexibility during end month closing (extended time shift as required)
+3-5 years’ experience in accounting,
Experience in CNBV, SAT, BANXICO, accounting requirements (Desirable)
Experience in Local GAAP (NIF) USGAAP and IFRS.
Preparation of Financial Statements
Strong numerical & accounting skills
Accounting within the Automotive Finance Industry is preferred but not a requirement
Ability to perform accounting variance analysis
Experience in leading accounting projects
Knowledge of process mapping for accounting is a plus
Demonstrated ability to produce documents, spreadsheets, databases, presentations etc. with Windows-based software, as well as proficient in internet tool.
Ability to create and maintain work relationships.
Strong oral, written and presentation skills;
Ability to communicate to individuals and groups.
Proficient with Microsoft access and excel tools.
Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) controls and documentation is a plus
