Job Description:

The business finance senior analyst role is accountable for performing the following core responsibilities :

Assist the business in DECISION making by giving counseling about which is the best option among several scenarios to 1) maximazing 3M operating income, 2) comply with all Global Financial Standard rules and Legal policies.

Perform FINANCIAL PLANNING & REPORTING activities to support local and international management teams.

Develop expertise to optimize and identify process improvements to existing financial operations.

Impacto: This position evaluates the profitability of projects in the largest business group in 3M, gives visibility to marketing and BUM about potential risks in our P&L (NWI, Gross Margins below cost, Sales Mix impact, price-volume decisions). Also, this position needs to participate in initiatives to improve results, valuating the benefits/impacts of decisions, giving follow up in the future to warranty that planned results are being achieved.This position is in charge of giving support and financial counseling and consolidates Industrial division results to give explanations as a whole business group.

Comunicación: This position needs to have a strong ability of influence others (Marketing & BUM) based on financial data and projections which can improve our results or avoid potential risks in the future. Flexibility and working under pressure is highly recommended. It needs to be able to work with a lot of people and interdisciplinary teams.

Innovación: Continuous improvement of current financial tools to have visibility of errors, improve reporting files, etc. Elaborate ad/hoc reports / presentations to explain internal clients potential risks or current results in a way that it can be understood by the audience.

Conocimiento: Knowledge of 3M structure, organization and how the business works is very important to align business needs and goals. Strong knowledge on 3M's financial reporting requests (Longview, QOR, OP, Month End Close) and an holistic financial statements overview (knowledge of P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, GFS, US GAAP) is required to explain the business its own results and to give better feedback on how certain decisions could impact 3M results.

Main Responsabilities:

Develop short and long term financial plans. Identify financial opportunities to improve profitability. Ensure legal compliance.

Assure the integrity of financial data submitted during month end close and in daily activities such as:Calculate top line accruals (Rebates, Trade Promotion & Other Sales Reductions).Price and Volume effect validation and explain variations.Intercompany P&L validation.Analyze the variations from standard cost vs real cost (imported and manufactured products).Assure that NWI calculation reflects GFS rules and proactively inform the business of future impacts.Analyze local production or third party manufacturing costing.QOR tool preparation under assumptions worked with the business.COGS and SG&A reconciliations for all local and international requirements.Top Review with divisions to identify gross margin opportunities and assure that floor prices have required justification and approval documentation.

Responsible of different finance authorizations in Lotus notes (costing new skus in stocks management, approve changes in quantity per carton, costing inactive skus in SKU Reactivation, floor price approval in iPricing & ad hoc manufacturing in Ofertas y Maquilas).

Support the marketing team doing financial analysis, which serves as a reference for making decisions (NGV, NPI, capital investments, local conversion, promotions).

Revaluate the inventory every six months, considering the transfer cost and markup changes for the imported skus.

Performs ad hoc analysis when required by the marketing teams.

Monthly tracking and reporting to Market Centers (I&SMC and Ferreteria).

Counsel the business based on GFS and Legal policies. Continuous training in these topics is a MUST.
