Job Description

  • Effectively manages and administers all telephony systems in assigned locations

  • Provides inputs on design, planning and implementation of new projects.

  • Coordinates timely installations and troubleshooting efforts with vendors.

  • Provide day/day support on all Cisco telephony system administration.

  • Coordinates all telephony integration with Networking Departments

  • Performs adds, moves and changes in PBX’s and related telephony equipment

  • Keeps complete and accurate records/diagrams of Telecommunication infrastructures

  • Responsible for verification of implemented site security procedures for Telecommunications

  • Performs and keeps up to date on all IT Security requirements on PBX and related Telephony equipment

  • Particpates in on-call rotation as primary support engineer.

  • Able to perform patching on Cisco systems. Follows change management process and procedure.

Job Requirements

  • 6 - 8 years of hands on telephony experience, specifically with Cisco

  • Communication Manager, AVST CE voicemail administration and support as well as Media Gateway (MG) Troubleshooting. (nice to have)

  • Thorough knowledge of Cisco telephony systems. • Cisco Voice Certification desirable.

  • Hands-on working knowledge with VoIP, understanding of VoIP Protocols and QoS. SIP knowledge/Session Manager training helpful. Avaya Session Border Controller support very helpful

  • Good computer skills – Email, Word, Excel, Visio, etc.

  • Knowledge of WAN/LAN networks

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with strengths in customer service

  • Able to organize responsbilities across multiple projects.
