This role is part of O&T and Global Functions Controllership for Mexico that reports to the regional Controller within finance organization. The regional Controller reports directly to the global Controller and at matrix level to the LATAM CFO.

This role is in charge to monitor and present the behavior of the expenses for the franchise in Mexico during the month end process, and also includes the responsibilities addressed to manage, under finance perspective, the corresponding duties for compensation plans and benefits. Also, the role involves the participation in projects and requires of initiative to optimize the processes related with its activities, and also to be in touch with more senior people at local, regional and global level.

Key Responsibilities

1.Accruals controlwhich includes the monitoring of expense´ reserves, the follow up for the ones in balance remaining from prior years, monthly coordination with all the corresponding areas for the process to be followed,etc.

2.Approvals of records in Alfa, in pass and in full suite

3.account owner as per balance sheet substantiation requirementsfor the assigned accounts

4.Adjustments and control over RIF

5.Entries related other compensation items for USGAAP purposes

6.Participation in projects such as the ware house for variable incentive compensation and the one addressto improve pass to handle fx for Mexico

7.Optimization and reengineering of the compensation processes from finance perspective

8.Prepare and present the analysis of variances for expenses for pre-month end, during and after the month end process, obtain from areas the explanations that apply

9.Support the month end with adjustments be required

10.Attend meetings with regional and global teams like the ones related to top sides for RIF, to equity compensation,to benefits, etc.



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance

  • 5 years in financial institutions, analyzing financials, specially expense behavior and reconciliations.

  • The role does not demand to directly manage people at the beginning, 1 year of experience managing others given the interaction with many areas of the bank.

·Strong knowledge and understanding in own field or discipline and basic knowledge of other areas of the business
