The Technical Support Engineer position is with the Web Hosting Team for High Availability and Mission Critical services. This position is responsible for the hosting infrastructure environment, for Intranet and Internet web sites and applications for HPE and HPI customer. The Technical Support Engineer position is responsible for deliverables ranging from technical roadmaps coordination, change management, the maintaining of hosting standards, and application outage restoration and problem resolution.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for the operation and administration of IIS web servers and Citrix across Engineering, QA, Staging, Demo, and Production environments.

Responsible for the operation and administration of Application Deployment technologies for all environments.

Familiarity with different Citrix Xenapp environment.

Familiarity with configuring, packaging, and software release in Citrix to meet corporate standards.

Responsible for the operation and administration of Web Content Management Systems.

Maintains and monitors all IIS applications to ensure performance and availability.

Performs troubleshooting and responses to all IIS related application issues.

Performs troubleshooting and responses to all Citrix related server and application issues.

Act as an escalation point for issues within the department.

Activities List: Support technical project managers and technical leads by driving all technical pre-scoping setup and integration activities. Provide technical leadership to the business unit application teams regarding High Availability/Mission Critical application implementation projects. Ensure the solution delivered meets the expected level of quality for HA/MC. Manage technical escalations and perform outage resolution and recovery in partnership with HPE/HPI Operations Bridges around the world as necessary. Provide application ownership for all technical issues, and outages for the HA/MC applications. Planning and coordination of upgrades and growth and technology changes. Provides technical consulting, recommendations, etc. to the HA AST. Part of Rapid Elevation Team as escalation engineer. Assists in developing an annual technology plan. Communication point between the HA delivery tower and the account team. Citrix knowledge would be a great advantage. Strong skills using Microsoft Office products. Qualifications: Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a MIS, CIS, CS or equivalent experience.

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Familiar with Windows 2008 R2, W2012. - Working experience with IIS 7.5, 8.0. - Comfortable working with IIS 7.5 - websites, virtual directories, application Pools, etc. - Familiar with basic IIS security. - General Windows Sys admin experience.
  • Very familiar with Windows Event Viewer.
  • In-depth knowledge in dealing with Windows Registry and File Systems.
  • Familiar with taking user dumps.
  • Familiar with troubleshooting shared environment.
  • Basic understanding of UX, Linux, Apache, Weblogic, Tomcat, and JBoss.
  • Administration of Citrix Administrative console.
