The Intelligent Buildings (IB) sub-vertical within the Industrial Business Unit is currently seeking a dedicated technical Field Engineer (FE) to work directly with customer buyers and engineers to help solve their connectivity design challenges.
The FE works as the interface between the customer and TE, particularly customer engineering centers and manufacturing plants. The FE is the outside sales and engineering representative for numerous strategic accounts in a defined territory and/or a specific industry/technology. The major responsibilities of this role are to continuously identify and convert new opportunities within existing and prospect accounts. The FE is responsible for the design-in and development of new products and for managing the seamless and speedy execution of sales and engineering projects. In this role, the FE will work directly with the customer to identify product/ technology needs and recommend, or develop, a TE solution that meets the requirements of the customer’s application.
This position will report directly to the Regional Sales Leader and will be responsible for collaborating with multiple other functions within the organization, particularly with other Field Engineers and Account Managers. The sales territory is Northern Baja, CA region, including Tijuana, Ensenada, and Mexicali.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Build and maintain strong business relationships with customers to drive sales and exceptional customer experience.
Understand business processes and make proactive decisions, effectively solving customer issues, and increasing sales.
Present TE products, services and capabilities to best meet the needs of the customer.
Develop sales opportunities and assist in developing the pipeline for future sales activity through daily interactions with customers.
Respond professionally to inquiries from TE’s key accounts via multiple methods (phone, email, meetings, etc.).
Identify and drive corrective actions and improvement projects that will raise customer satisfaction levels.
Work with Regional Sales Manager to execute account plan(s).
Perform statistical analysis relating to products, bookings, billings, opportunities and customer profiles.
Collaborate with TE engineers, buyers and outside field sales team.
Demonstrate pipeline growth in accordance with set revenue goals.
Responsible for demand creation, quoting, delivery escalation, customer scorecard and contract management.
Bachelor’s Degree required in technical field (Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering preferred)
Two (2) years’ experience in a technical sales role is a plus.
Must be bilingual (English & Spanish)
Strong communicator (verbal, written, spoken) with exceptional listening skills
