Traditionally the role of the HRG is defined by Functional Excellence such as recruiting, understanding of labour law, policy and procedure, employee relations, negotiating with unions and works councils etc – and this is where we started, but soon realised that this was not working and that we required something more – which led us to the 6 elements.
The traditional core HR skills are fundamental to the success of HR but are no longer alone sufficient. These are merely the entry point and it is taken as a given that these skills are in place.
There are 6 elements that comprise the role of the Honeywell HRG. Functional excellence we take as a given – not that it is not important, it certainly is, but that it is the ticket to the game. It is what gets you in the door but is not sufficient of it’s self to make you successful.
The additional 5 elements are how HR adds value in Honeywell – it brings the operating model to life.
In order to be successful you need to master all 6 elements which are defined with the Primary Responsibilities and Behaviours outlined and a set of question provided to enable you to think about your development areas
Lead Change: Ability to influence and Drive culture change Manage Talent: Drive talent management life cycle; Think One Honeywell Build Relationships and Broker Services: End to end ownership of service delivery Act as Coach and Confidant: Requires credibility Functional Excellence: Core to the role of the HRG The 6 elements are built on the foundation principles of: Business Acumen End to end ownership of Service Delivery to the client group These 2 principles set out the foundation on within which the six elements operate.
Bachelor’s degree on Business Administration, Human Resources or related areas required. Masters preferred. Bilingual (Spanish-English) Strong verbal, written and listening skills. Problem solving skills. Strong analytical, decision making, people development, team oriented and problem solving skills. Leadership and team building skills. Knowledge of HS&E and Quality systems & standards e.g. ISO/TS 16949 Six sigma Green Belt /Lean Expert preferred. Knowledge of the Federal Labor, Social Security and related
Experience: Generalist background with knowledge of staffing, compensation, organizational planning, employee relations, and training and development. 7 experience gained through increasingly positions within Human Resources. HR Metrics HR processes such as MRR/HPD/PDS
