BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for dynamic, results driven individual to join as a Welding Specialist Engineer at our SLP plant in Mexico.

In this role, and under direct supervision of the Manager, Engineering; the Welding Specialist Engineer will be primarily responsible for developing and implementing for all welding processes within the Manufacturing Engineer department. This individual must have experience in welding. This person must possess the ability to create various tooling designs as required to accommodate welding processes. This individual will work directly with equipment suppliers as well as a variety of BorgWarner Mexico engineering functions to support new product development as well as operational support for current welding processes. Travel will be required to BW global locations and to a variety of equipment suppliers.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Supports current welding projects.

• Develops next generation of welding techniques and applies them to current and future products.

• Trains other engineers and operators on welding processes.

• Identifies problems and cost savings opportunities. Offers solutions.

• Plans, schedules, initiates, and conducts or coordinates engineering assignments related to designated engineering field: manufacturing, industrial, quality, product, etc.

• Maintains liaison with various organizational units; reviews progress and evaluated results; makes changes in methods, design or equipment where necessary.

• Confers with other engineers to resolve problems.

• Participates in and may lead cross-functional project teams.

-Engineering Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s Degree preferred.

-8 years in similar position.

-CAD skills in one of the following packages: ProEngineer, AutoCad, or Solidworks.

-Bi-lingual – English / Spanish is preferred.
