BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for dynamic, results driven individual to join as a Projects Manufacturing Coordinator at our SLP plant in Mexico.

In this role, and under direct supervision of the Manager, Engineering; the Projects Manufacturing Coordinator will be primarily responsible for managing manufacturing engineer’s functions for new programs in starter motors and coordinate with Program Managers/ Project coordinators the manufacture topics for the introduction of new launches or special projects as well as prepare quotations for future NBO for starter motors. This position will work with the Plant Engineers, Program Managers, Project coordinators, equipment suppliers as well as a variety of BWM engineering functions to support new product development to ensure that manufacturing equipment is built according to the BorgWarner specifications, functions according to the specifications, is safe to operate and produces quality products. This individual must have experience in tooling/equipment design. Travel will be required to BW global locations and to a variety of equipment suppliers.


Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Works at a specialized, non-management, professional level.

  • Implementation of standard Bill of Process for specific product lines.

  • Standardization of Manufacturing concepts, including design and build of tooling built by internal and external tool making resources.

  • Implement the standards of Lean assembly, ensure sequence of operations, process flows, machine balance, operator balance, and takt time requirements are met.

  • Provide timing and updates to Engineering Manager, Project coordinator, Program Managers and Receiving Plant on equipment build status

  • Coordinate machine run-offs according to gate reviews and program deliverables.

  • Coordinate documentation as defined by the project.

  • Coordinate train Plant personnel on the safe operation, set-up, and maintenance of new equipment.

  • Coordinate and Participate in design reviews with equipment suppliers.

  • Assure MEs will provide machine capability studies.

  • Ensure communication of lessons learned and process

  • Engineering Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s Degree preferred

  • 8 years

  • Automotive experience

  • Experience in projects ramp up and transfer of equipment/lines and equipment validation.

  • Proficient in English
