The LEAP C&A Student Engineer is part of and supports the engineering team that is responsible for the design, field performance, manufacturing readiness and cost reduction of all the Electrical, Fuel, Oil and Air components of the LEAP 1A, LEAP 1C and LEAP 1B engine programs, including Fleet activities that directly impact the end customer. As a student engineer, the candidate will be expected to be mentored and coached, but also to develop, present and be accountable for his/her own work.
The LEAP C&A Student Engineer is responsible for successful execution of the work coordinated by their Technical Leads and mentors.
Objectives and Goals:
Perform all tasks assigned by the Tech Lead or assigned supervising Engineer.
Participate in the actual planning, design, development and execution of the department’s work, always under the coaching and guidance of the C&A Engineering and Fleet Team.
Work alongside the Technical Lead of the LEAP C&A Engineering Team in order to develop and plan efforts to streamline our processes and improve quality and cost.
Learn the applicable engineering and fleet support tools and C&A Engineering Principles.
Interface with Suppliers and track their activities in the context of a joint engineering effort.
Student of Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering.
Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.
Experience as a member of a Lean Challenge team.
Assimilate data and act decisively, but in a collaborative manner.
Work in a distributed/multi-site environment and under a matrixed responsibility organization.
Provide a professional interface to both internal and external customers and suppliers.
