Job Description


Continental Engineering Services (CES) is seeking a Software Project Manager. As an embedded software developer / software project manager for customer automotive applications you will be challenged to satisfy customer's needs as an integral part of a global and diverse team for the next generation of vehicles. Candidate will be responsible for software decisions, develop new system concepts and design for projects in the Chassis & Safety division.

Core Responsibilities:

Software Project Management tasks

Software development tasks

Interface between customer, overseas SW development, local project management team

Integrate and deliver of ECU software to vehicle bench development per defined schedule

Provide support to Vehicle application teams for identification of root cause for issues and corrective action plans

Ensure all aspects of production processes for software and calibration programming are validated

Responsible for development of new products, and changes to existing products

The ideal candidate is disciplined, and can work independently and within a team environment

Managing project schedules, closing open issues, identifying risks and clearly communicating goals to project stakeholders

Estimate and participate in the acquisition of new projects with external customers

Additional Responsibilities:

Flexibility to work in different automotive projects and areas

Customer support

Documentation of detail test plans, test design, analysis, computer modeling, prototype/production test scripts and specification releases

Planning of the SW project in collaboration with the SW Team stepwise escalation

Contribution to the SW supplier performance evaluation process based on the project schedule

Supervise dates, the degree of fulfillment of the work packets and budget and report to the department leader

Periodic as well as unscheduled report of the SW project status and if necessary to the responsible Project Manager in case of existing problems

Assistance with other tasks as needed and determined by Management

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent

Proficient with CAN and related tools

Programming knowledge of: LabVIEW, C/C+Linux programming experience

Intercultural abilities

Knowledge of CMMi / A-Spice

Knowledge of RTOS-(real time operating systems)

Experience with release processes

Good communication skills with CES team, internal & external customers

Availability to travel to USA and Germany is desirable

At least 1-3 years of experience in embedded Software Development activities

Preferred Qualifications:

Business oriented

Experience testing the developed modules in a real vehicle

Understanding of the vehicle system architecture and dynamics

Experience working with embedded software platforms for Application integrations

Experience negotiating with external customers

Knowledge of Autosar

Development for HMI concepts

Experience using Vector tools

Experience using Synergy or MKS
