Job Description


The Algorithm Engineer will develop highly complex radar algorithms as a part of an international development team for Continental's radar products to go into series production in the next few years.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and validate new radar algorithm features such as

  • Environment Modeling

  • Manage requirements of features to be developed

  • Manage requirements of existing features for new customer requests

  • Optimize algorithm in terms of memory and runtime

  • Develop tools to effectively validate new features

Additional Responsibilities:

  • The Algorithm Engineer might be required to also act as Algorithm Project Manager for up 30% of the time and be responsible for

  • Planning, tracking and reviewing of the algorithm development

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in an engineering field, physics, mathematics, computer science or related sciences

  • High level of critical thinking and problem solving abilities

  • Proficient in C programming

  • Good communication skills

  • Must be willing to travel internationally or domestically

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of optimal estimation methods (e.g. Kalman filtering)

  • Experience with radar sensors

  • Proficient in scripting with python

  • Proficient with Version Control Tools

  • Proficient with Requirements Management Tools such as Doors
