Job Summary:

Under supervision of the Trade Compliance Regional Manager, the Trade Compliance Supervisor oversees the Import/Export operations and trade compliance for the Monterrey maquiladora.Responsible for maintaining overall compliance with Mexican customs laws and regulations to avoid penalties and fines.Develops solutions for Mexican Import/Export compliance.Supervises border crossing issues related to the importation and exportation or materials and equipment.Ensures maximization of NAFTA and PPS benefits to reduce duty impact on the importation of raw materials.Audits compliance of exported goods for NAFTA qualification. Coordinates services of Mexican Customs brokers.Supervises relations between the company and Mexico government agencies.Ensures systems and data integrity withMexicoimport/export software.

Responsibilities:

1.Overall supervision of import/export operations, including departmental staff, external vendors, automated systems, and operating procedures.

2.Ensures strong internal controls and compliance with Mexican government rules and regulations to avoid sanctions or penalties.

3.Responsible for the maintenance and accuracy of Automated Mexican Customs System, supporting specific requirements of the company and government.

4.Audits data and documentation for customs clearance and compliance purposes.

5.Reviews and ensures inventories of Raw Materials and Assets are updated and accurate.

6.Ensures all regulatory requirements related to the maquiladora are adhered to (including but not limited to: VAT Certification, Discharges, Annex 24, etc.)

7.Responsible for payments to service providers.

8.Prepares and files declarations and reports to Mexican authorities as required

9.Stays informed of government actions related to import/export and implements new procedures as required according to changes in Mexican Law and regulations.

10.Ensures departmental procedures are properly documented and updated regularly.

11.Supervises new and/or special projects and new product introductions.

12.Manages monthly reporting and KPI's, and provides other reporting as requested by Regional Manager.

Qualifications:

-Bachelor’s degree with 5 or more years of increasingly responsible import/export

experience.

- Complete working knowledge of all Mexican Customs compliance rules and

regulations.

- Technical knowledge of NAFTA and other trade legislation, agreements and

regulations.

- Strong quantitative, analytical and critical thinking skills.

- Working experience with Microsoft suite, import/export software and Oracle

preferred.

- Bilingual - English / Spanish 100% oral and written.
