Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Trade Compliance Manager or Supervisor, the Trade Compliance Analyst is responsible for performing a broad range of activities to support import/export operations and ensure trade compliance for the maquiladora. This person will have extensive experience with Imports, Exports, NAFTA, inventory management, internal audits, discharges, and overall business processes. The Trade Compliance Analyst has a vital role in properly supporting Ingersoll Rand and providing outstanding customer service to internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

-Follow implemented process of analysis and reconciliation for discharges

-Manage duty saving programs including NAFTA analysis and solicitation, Prosec and Duty Drawback

-General administration of inventory control system (I-Xport)

-Inventory Management including fixed assets and raw material

-Monthly metrics reporting on activities

-Coordination and execution of special operations such as regime changes and transitions

-Conduct import and export compliance reviews and help develop processes to close gaps

-Monitor and manage daily trade compliance related international transaction holds

-Assist with the development and implementation of standard operating procedures

-Provide ad-hoc support for day-to-day Global Trade Compliance activities

-Conduct internal audits to detect risks and provide areas of opportunity

-Develop and maintain Key Performance Indicators for trade compliance (KPIs)

-Support and manage a trade compliance record retention program

-Perform other duties associated with trade compliance while maintaining a customer focused attitude and assisting the Trade Compliance Director, Trade Compliance Manager and/or Trade Compliance Supervisor.

Qualifications:

Education:Undergraduate degree in business, law, trade or related area

Experience: 3-5 years trade compliance experience

Technical Skills:Microsoft Office, technical drawings, Oracle, I-Xport, English 100% oral / written

Other: The ability to function both as a team and individual player with the ability to shift priorities as required by the global trade compliance team and business operations. The candidate must have analytical skills, be detail-oriented and possess the ability to anticipate problems and diffuse situations.

Key Competencies:

Extensive knowledge of maquiladora import/export operations including but not limited to - IMMEX, NAFTA, PROSEC, VUCEM, VAT certification, advanced international trade regulations, duties, experience in ISO, electronic filing, generation of reports, reconciliation, creation and review of databases. Advanced ERP and Annex 24 systems experience.
