Johnson Controls MEX Payroll Process Owner in Nuevo León, Mexico

Primary Directive:

The HR SSC Payroll Process Owner is responsible for providing Subject Matter Expertise for Payroll processes and services in support of Tier 1 and Tier 2 analysts’ day-to-day activity. As owner of the process, this role is accountable for maintaining its integrity and performance by certifying analysts are properly trained for process execution, Create, update and monitoring KPIs, metrics, controls, Work instructions and procedures of the area, leading & execute among with the T1 the Payroll/ System (Meta4) change requests from customers or internal initiatives, actively participation and/or leading projects, accomplishing framework and SOX Matrix, US GAP, External audit requirements. Active participation on Continuous Improvement/efficiencies in the process and Service Evolution initiatives is highly expected.

The HR SSC Process Owner main tasks/ responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Overseas the following Payroll processes and services:

  • Human Capital System (Workday)/ Time and attendance (Kronos) integrations management. Full knowledge of the conditions and Business rule for integrations feeding payroll system (Meta4.)

  • Payroll Execution

  • Payroll validation: payments, benefits & Taxes.

  • Payroll benefits orders requests and management

  • CFDI Creation

  • GL Reporting

  • Cash & Banks management and reconciliation.

  • Governmental/Audit and special request reporting

  • Creates/ensures that all the documentation, presentations, WI and related materials are updated and available for consultation.

  • Collaborates with Management/leadership to establish and execute training programs based on specific needs or according to law/regulation changes and certifies Payroll Analysts meet the technical knowledge requirements.

  • Creates, update and ensures quality controls are in place and properly documented and executed by Payroll Analysts, formally tracking findings & resolutions sharing findings to Payroll & Tax Supervisor on a weekly basis.

  • Performs regular process audits to maintain quality control inside established parameters.

  • Working in close collaboration with Payroll & Tax Supervisor keeps processes controlled according to Payroll controls and timeframes, process KPIs and deliverables, SOX Matrix by monitoring process and Payroll Analyst's individual performance; identifies trends and opportunity areas and provides advisory to Management team.

  • Identifies, collects, consolidates and analyzes customer feedback to drive initiatives for service improvement and best practice reinforcement, as well customer requests/projects to provide resolution according to their needs.

  • Proactively engages other teams to achieve process End-to-End perspective for making decisions and developing best practices.

  • Maintains a positive working relationship within the team and with external customers.

  • Drives continuous improvement activities that will increase quality and service delivery efficiency.

  • Participates in the Service Intake Model to analyze the addition of new services to the HR Shared Service Center Portfolio and provide expert opinion on the matter.

  • Generates and implements process and service evolution proposals and projects according to changing business needs.

  • Participates with Payroll & Tax Supervisor in operational review meetings with vendor, supporting this role to assign priority and execution of issues and or requests taken to the meeting.

  • Serves as main point of contact for Internal / External audit requests and follow-up.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field required

English Fluent

Job Experience:

· 5 years of working experience in Payroll areas or Payroll Shared Service Centers.

· 2 years of working with SOX, US GAP audit requirements on the Payroll/Human Resources domain.

· Ability to lead and motivate others without formal authority.

· Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to work in multiple projects successfully and simultaneously.

· Ability to understand and develop successfully partnerships with customers and peers.

Professional Knowledge:

· Experience on core Payroll operations processes & controls.

· Full knowledge on Payroll related Mexico regulations: ISR Law, IMSS Law, INFONAVIT regulations and CFDI (SAT) conditions.

· Experience in Meta4 (preferable).

· Experience in Microsoft Office suite applications.

High Technical skills in Payroll & Taxes matters
