Johnson Controls Lead PTP in Nuevo León, Mexico

RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL: Under general supervision and in accordance with company policies and procedures, is responsible for the support and training of new employees and college interns. As part of continuous improvement is responsible for audits and compliance of the team, providing as a result constructive and effective feedback. Administration and analysis of key performance indicators that would result on action plans for the team. Has responsibility for coordinating, driving, and escalating all purchasing activities for designated area of responsibility in a timely and professional manner. Responsible for supporting both internal and external customers. Identify opportunities and work on providing solutions.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES: 1. Manages training process and materials for Purchasing Services department for training all new employees, temporary contractors, and college interns. Continuous follow-up with employees during the training period, and coordinates training documentation is updated and accurate.

  1. Works with Supervisor to prioritize work load for Purchasing Specialists. Tracks and reports on the department goals and metrics. Supports general reporting requests for the following but not limited to Monitoring Cost Savings Tracker, Daily Performance Reporting, Maintenance of the Nortel Phone Que, Department Service Levels.

  2. Champion for documentation of procedures and processes. Recommends ideas to enhance existing workflow processes. Assists and supports the evaluation of new department processes/procedure changes or enhancements. Participates to support pilot activity.

  3. Active participation on implementing company strategies such as reducing Invoices on hold, use of buy blue and prefer suppliers.

  4. Maintains continuous follow-up with branch personnel to resolve disputes and issues relating to credit holds and payment terms. Work with buyers on root cause analysis and solution

  5. Participates on constant audits to our daily operation such as: calls, Emails, Iproc, and NxGen transactions. Provides feedback to supervisor and assists in development and mentoring.

  6. Cross-trains within the department and benchmarks with other BBP. Follows best practices while working with internal and external customers to exceed customer satisfaction. Shares best practices with the department and actively participate in projects that will enhance the overall quality of services within the department. Helps establish process improvement plans.


  7. High School diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Procurement, Finance or Marketing preferred.

  8. Minimum of 3 years of purchasing or project management experience.

    1. Strong verbal, written communication and negotiating skills. ( Fluid English)

    2. Proven ability to work independently with good analytical and problem solving skills and attention to detail.

    3. Good interpersonal skills, team player, and approachable by branches, regions, other departments, management and peers.

    4. Possesses advanced computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Internet, fax and printing software as well as an understanding of database operations.

    5. Continuous improvement experience background (Green Belt) (Desirable)
