AT&T Technical Specialist, Field Operations Engineering in Monterrey, Mexico

Team Leader for delivery of field services at network sites across Latin America especially Mexico, ensuring that AT&T's field services requirements are delivered to time and quality. The role requires engagement, direction, and control of third party service providers and telehouses, across multiple sites, to deliver a portfolio of field services tasks. Those deliverables will include:

  1. Installation of network equipment (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Ciena, Arista, patch panels);

  2. Installation of cables; cross connections to backbone and access circuits;

  3. Fault management including out of hours maintenance response;

  4. Testing (problem determination and acceptance testing activities);

  5. Capacity management of passive network components.

The role requires performance management of third parties, defining and driving improvement programs as necessary to meet required Service Level Agreements. It also requires some flexibility on working hours due to the various time zones and will need to support some out of office hours work and escalations.

The applicant will have to perform on-site field services work when required, update network infrastructure and ticketing system databases (e.g., NISE, WMS) and interface with multiple AT&T business units including Engineering, Service Delivery, Network Operations Centers, Global Real Estate and Global Access Management.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Managing and controlling the delivery of field services at network sites across LA region, ensuring that AT&T's field services requirements are delivered to time and quality. The role requires engagement, direction and control of third party service providers and telehouses to deliver a portfolio of field services tasks including equipment installations, expansions, upgrades, customer provisioning; network maintenance and planned work. It also requires defining and driving improvement programs as necessary to meet required SLAs. Internally the role involves management of interfaces with Service Delivery, Network Engineering, Network Operations Centers, Global Real Estate, and Global Access Management. The role requires very good experience and knowledge of AT&T network elements, skilled usage of internal systems and processes, advanced abilities in testing and fault diagnosis, plus knowledge of PTT/Carrier technologies and standards.

  3. Good understanding of Wide Area Networking;

  4. Knowledge of the main data networking equipment used by AT&T;

  5. Fundamental knowledge of cabling systems / adapters / interfaces and their handling;

  6. Knowledge of PTTs standards and presentations in Latin America countries especially Mexico;

  7. Knowledge of testing methodology and use of testers;

  8. Car driver's license and ability to travel to other LA countries on occasion;

  9. Fluent spoken and written English in addition to Spanish;

  10. Minimum 3 to 5 years experience.

Education and Qualifications::

  1. Bachelor's Level Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Telecommunications or Computer Engineering;

  2. Cisco certification is desirable.
