Honeywell Buyer in Monterrey, Mexico
Buyer will work to determine potential sources of supply, solicit supplier quotations, issue Purchase Orders in accordance with Order Policy, satisfy customer need, and in support of the Key Delivery Metrics and Inventory goals for Honeywell Aerospace sites. Work with Vendors to confirm delivery status and fully manage the PO Placement process. The Buyer will be responsible for savings by negotiating better prices and payment terms of off-contract buys and drive eSourcing activities, including issuing RFQ’s through Ariba, publishing and monitoring eAuctions and making award decisions based on the best overall value to Honeywell. Complete Purchase Order Documentation Summaries (PODS packages) and add off-contract parts with recurring demand to Purchase Order Pricing Agreement (POPA). Offer support to Supply Chain Design activities (e.g. vendor localization), supplier transitions, and other Procurement-related responsibilities as required
PO Placement, Productivity, & Compliance
• Plan, schedule, and place purchase orders in accordance with Order Policy adherence and aligned with SAP generated production requirements to ensure delivery of quality hardware in time to support customer requirements
•Follow up with the suppliers to get timely confirmations & validate them
•Expediting factory shortage and make sure high performance of supplier On Time Delivery (OTD), On Time To Request, and On Time To Re-Committed (OTTR’d)
•Push outs and exception messages to be successfully actioned to maintain a minimum level of Inventory
•Review purchase history, RFQ activity and APSL to determine potential source(s) of supply to quote
• Investigate and understand suppliers’ capacity and capabilities before quoting, publishing eAuctions, and/or sending suppliers firm POs
•Ensure suppliers have all required Honeywell inputs to accurately and fully respond to RFQ
•Conduct eAuctions as part of the quotation process for off-contract parts before PO placement
•Generate savings in excess of 10% for eAuctioned orders, ensuring award decisions are always based on the best overall value to Honeywell
•Any Ad hoc requests in order to resolve invoice, payment , PO & Vendor related issues
•Manage PO PPV and drive vendor year-to-year productivity. Follow the PIA process for any price increase
•Create and document PO Packages for Government Compliance review, as required
•Negotiate best possible delivery date from suppliers for short-to-lead-time orders
•Drive continuous working capital improvements through properly executing consumption based replenishment and other various warm replenishment supplier strategies
•Collaborate with Sourcing to add off-contract parts to contract, as applicable, to increase contract penetration (including utilization of the POPA, Purchase Order Price Agreement, process)
•Drive resolution of PO placement delays and/or DLTPs with Planning, Engineering, etc.
MOS & Strategic/Project Support
• Attend and participate in Tier Meetings and escalate PO Placement issues appropriately
•Identify opportunities at individual Purchase Order level to negotiate with the suppliers for achieving Price Savings and/or Cost Avoidance
•Balance DLTP (Days Late to Place) requisitions with proactive requisition to PO conversion, to ensure continuity of supply to sites and customers
•Support PO Automation and other automation initiatives through POPA or LTC addition, as per the direction from Buyer/Commodity Manager/Metrics Manager or Director
•Identify & Support eAuction by conducing eAuctions at individual PO level, both in support of Requisitions in queue and future Planned Orders
•Work closely with HBT Sites & Businesses/GPS and contribute to achieve their goals & initiatives
•Drive lead time reduction & localization projects for the assigned materials/suppliers with guidance
•Analyze the Individual weekly PO Placement Metrics misses and determine appropriate short-term and long-term corrective actions
•Identify, escalate, and pursue opportunities for Supplier consolidations
•Build and foster relationship with Honeywell’s supply base
•Demonstrate an active commitment to continuous improvement in the areas of Quality, Cost, Delivery, Inventory and Lead Time
•Ensure a smooth transition of POs placed to the PO Management Team
•A Bachelor’s degree with minimum of 3+years of experience in procurement and Supply Chain Management
•APICS , ISM or related formal training or education procurement field is preferred
•The candidate must have prior experience in Direct Procurement, MRP planning & and Inventory control
•Excellent Communication skills along the organization thru all levels.
•Mindset on customer satisfaction (internal & external).
•The candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills with all levels of employees and management as the candidate will be required to lias with supplier counterparts in US, EMEA & APAC regions.
•The candidate should have experience in handling multiple ERP's (SAP, Oracle etc)
• Exposure to Lean, Six sigma & Project Management is also desirable. But not must.
•Knowledge on E-Sourcing/Auction is preferable.
•Good Negotiation Skills
•Ability to multi-task and work in challenging environment
•The candidate should be well versed with Microsoft Products with demonstrated proeficiency on Excel, Word and Outlook. This job may also require using various applications (Microsoft or others). Hence, a strong inclination towards automation will be an added advantage.
