The Field Service Technician is a field based position that is responsible for customer support activities with a focus on preventative and corrective maintenance of instrumentation. The successful candidate must have the ability to utilize proven troubleshooting processes to diagnose and resolve technical issues on a variety of FT-IR, FT-NIR and Raman instruments. The ability to manage service call scheduling, parts inventory and administrative responsibilities with minimal supervision is required. Additional responsibilities include; customer relationship management, written documentation of service activities, and effective interaction and communication with internal technical support personnel, manufacturing, and sales. The Field Service Technician will also represent the company in a positive, professional manner in all dealings with Bruker Optics customers, both external and internal.

  • Provide professional technical support for customers including installation, training, corrective maintenance and hotline service

  • Networking of analytical instruments with optional software solutions and their implementation into existing laboratory information systems

  • Support to sales team with visits of prospect customers and finding new projects

  • Participation of technical training at Bruker Mexicana and in the factory, Germany

  • Sell upgrades and service contracts

  • Translate technical manuals and service procedures

  • Warrant the satisfaction of Bruker customers

  • High level degree in Electronic, Mechanical, Mechatronic Engineer, Chemistry or equivalent experience

  • Three years or more of experience with customer support, maintenance with analytical or medical equipment

  • Expertise in FT-IR spectroscopy, FT-NIR or Raman technology, Remote Sensing, Microscopy and laboratory organization is advantageous

  • Safe handling of all standard PC operating systems and networks including Windows environment. Working knowledge of MS Office products

  • Good written and oral English language skills

  • Communication skills and team worker

  • Ability to communicate and deal effectively within all levels of the organization – both internal and external customers and colleagues – in a professional manner

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Ability and willingness to travel as over 80% travel may be required

  • Customer service focus

  • Drivers license
