Designs applications that comprise end to end custom development solutions which run on multiple platforms & may be composed of multiple software packages. This role is responsible for performance, availability and scalability of the applications, and maintains the functional interface to the application infrastructure. Architect functional aspects of solutions to meet the operational, security, and non-functional requirements. Given a selected set of requirements and a solution context, design the solution architecture by using components and/ or tailoring application packages. Create customizing, assembly and tailoring guidance for implementers so that the solution satisfies business requirements. Architect Solutions by Designing New Components. Given functional and non-functional requirements for an application, design and elaborate the functional architecture to meet those requirements in term of maintainability, extensibility, usability, performance, reliability and self-recovery. Develop test strategies, develop test plans, and apply refactoring techniques to validate the design. Given the requirement to create a new application or amend an existing application, specify the functional attributes at a level sufficient to drive effort estimation and set the functional requirements baseline. Given initial requirements and component deliverables, review components with the client to confirm and adjust requirements, producing revised requirements. Given a set of requirements, select a software selection methodology, tailor the methodology, and use it to select a product or products that meet requirements. Perform Components & Services Placement. Given an overall solution context, a set of solution requirements, and a description of the existing IT infrastructure, recommend alternatives for allocation of business functions to architecture components which can be used to evaluate and select specific system components.
