General description Position title: Logistics specialist/Trade Compliance Analyst Department: Trade Compliance Reports to: Trade Compliance Supervisor JOB PURPOSES Ensure imports and exports flow according to business plans at the most competitive cost and to keep these operations in compliance with all the laws and regulations that affect international trade. JOB ACTIVITIES Provides shipping instructions for ground, air, ocean and express orders and logistic area. Work closely with the custom broker and freight forwarders to ensure timely clearance of imported and exported merchandise / Coordinate imports with customs brokers, provide information and paperwork for import process and comply with Mexican trade regulations for hardware, spare parts, media and demo equipment / Review proformas of pedimentos and calculate import duties and taxes. Provide technical information to the broker for tariff classification purposes. Provides status information to internal customers / Provide status to logistics, buyers or parties related. Registers lands cost of each shipment: Review and approval of supplier´s invoices / Review, process suppliers, create PR and PO in SAP invoices for AP. Checks import/export paperwork to ensure compliance with existing laws/ current activity. Enter import pedimentos into SAP Reviews tariff classifications to identify duty levels and import requirements / current activity Obtain import/export certificates when is necessary / Obtain NOM´S certifications Estimates landing factors for customer quotations. Provides support to the different departments. (Projects, Sales and Services) for quotations requirements. Reports shipping discrepancies to Distributions Centers, Suplliers and follow up on corrective actions Remain informed of current import and export matters, regulations and laws through self-learning and the attendance of training sponsored by Honeywell, chambers, government, etc.. Maintains and update and accurate record of operations during the time required by law Checks the elaboration of the customs documentation by the “in house” personnel: several letters, “manifestaciones de valor”, certified of origin, NOM´s, etc.. Checking and control of each custom broker expenses Checking, codification and control of the expenses of international and national carries. WORKING RELATIONSHIPS Internal: In house, sourcing, warehouse, distribution, sales and finance. External: Warehouse, Custom broker and carrier companies JOB RESPONSABILITIES Accomplish with the estimated parameters of clearance in a timely manner, adhering strictly to the customs legislation to avoid any penalties and PAMAS as well as being up to date with the third party payments and avoid any delays and suspensions of service. Accomplish with the deliveries of the reports in a timely manner. Accomplish with the accurate control of each fiscal file of import and export.
