Responsible for initial call handling including: Call Entry (CE), Create or update – service request is opened or updated as appropriate, Entitle – verify coverage and service level, Route – determine where to send the request; may route automatically to a remote technical support team or directly to the field. Exception Handling (EH) Entitlement – if unable to verify initially a specialist will investigate, work to resolve, and route to support, or deny the request, Routing – if not set up or fails a specialist manually routes the request (common for electronic requests).
