Honeywell Strategic Planning Manager in Mexicali, Mexico
Exciting opportunity within Defense & Space to promote Honeywell growth!
This position serves as the Strategic Planning Manager for portfolio and go to market strategies for the $4.1B Defense & Space (D&S) unit of Honeywell. This cross-functional position is responsible for defining underserved customers and countries, prioritizing sales channels, offerings, investment and business models which result in highest revenue and operating income for the company. Additionally the position will have responsibility for prioritizing the D&S research and development pipeline including retrofits, modifications and upgrades (RMUs), and strategy support for 2-3 adjacency or Enterprise Breakthrough projects per year, including area of interest analysis, value chain, segmentation and voice of customer results.
The Strategic Planning Manager will evaluate & understand markets utilizing marketing and financial principles to create strategies that translate into specific business actions that deliver the most impactful results to overall business performance. These specific business actions will include implications for: pricing, product & service offerings, business models, channel, go-to-market approaches, technology gaps, R&D investments, as well as cross functional expectations.
Core responsibilities include:
• Channel partner rationalization with customer business teams including white space analysis • RMU support to the D&S RMU director • STRAP investment prioritization across D&S • Collaboration with Enterprise product teams on go to market and RD&E prioritization • Leadership of cross-functional teams within a matrix organization • Alignment of the sales force and other company resources to growth areas • Alignment of business strategy to product line strategy within D&S. • Communication of core go to market strategies to D&S Leadership Critical factors for success include the ability to effectively frame and communicate complex market issues in a concise manner (both written and orally), strong interviewing and market research skills, and ability to lead and program manage cross functional teams to successful outcomes. Demonstrated ability to identify market opportunities and develop plans to exploit and grow the business.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Engineering or related discipline • 3 years of directly related experience (Marketing Analysis, Business Development, Sales, Business Execution or other relevant business areas) • Demonstrated experience leading cross functional teams and Matrix organizations • Strong analytical skills (Excel, Access, finance principles) • Ability to transform data into insights
