The Quality Director is the management representative for any and all Quality Management Systems certifications. The Quality Director, in conjunction with the Operations Leader (in both Mexicali Plant 1 and Plant 2), will ensure that Production Managers, Team Leaders and Supervisors across all shifts will hold delegated responsibility for ensuring product quality, and shall have the authority to stop production to correct quality problems.
Meeting departmental targets and objectives cascaded from business plan
Setting departmental personal targets and objectives
Meeting all relevant departmental KPI`s
Maintenance of system and product approvals
Maintenance of product test regime
Set up and maintenance of a Customer Complaint/8D tracking system consistent with other TT sites
Set up and maintenance of Supplier Development program
APQP development and improvement
Review & control of personnel in department to meet ongoing requirements.
Oversee Quality Departments for Mexicali (Plant 1 and Plant 2)
Encouraging, monitoring, development of and reporting on all continual improvement programmes active in company
Development and reporting of Cost of Quality programs (Plant 1 &2)
- Management of supplier development function and focusing on supplier development in cost, quality and delivery.
Review of customer satisfaction indicators and adoption of preventive techniques to improve these.
Drives quick and thorough response to customers on CQN, RMA, FA, 8D and customer inquiries.
- Anticipates customers questions and needs and addresses them in the initial customer contact.
Direct Customer interface
Quality Control (general) but not limited to
Set up and maintain the Quality Management System in accordance with TT Electronics and ISO 9001
Documentation control within area. Test results, drawings etc.
Working within other areas of the Quality department as required
Ensuring the maintenance of product quality within agreed standards. The quality Director has the authority and responsibility to stop production to correct quality problems.
PPM Reduction; Reduction in customer returns; Scrap/Waste Reductions.
Facilitating Structure (has ability to influence a culture in which manufacturing embraces quality vs. the Quality department is solely responsible)
Ability to present in a group; strong communication and auditing skills (can look for and identify issues)
Bias towards execution/sense of urgency
Analytical problem solver
Oversee and drive customer issue management through the 8D process to meet or exceed company targets
• BS Degree; ideally in Mech. Eng. or equivalent experience
• Experience in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, AS 9100, FMEA, APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC-TS16949\QS9000
• Six Sigma Black belt preferred
• Quality Management Systems experience
• Experience of at least 10 years in manufacturing preferably gained in a similar industry or similar demanding industry
• Experience in automotive and aerospace products and programs.
• Must be bilingual in Spanish and English
• Effective communication skills both written and spoken
