Program Manager 4-ProdDev
Big Data Program Management is responsible for the planning and delivery of Big Data solutions within the Database division. Primary goal being to deliver big data products and to create the infrastructure and processes necessary to facilitate this. The program management team works closely with product management and development leads and architects to define road-maps and exit criteria. Among other tasks, we bear the responsibility of defining milestones and processes to track and deliver the products - while communicating and mitigating risks alongside time-to-market requirements.
This is an opportunity for a manager to become an expert in Oracle's Big Data offerings and to lead a large virtual team. You will play a lead role defining process, training requirements, and new infrastructure to support development using a combination of agile and traditional waterfall program management methods. You may also own the product release for one or more of the big data products.
10 years experience in the industry
7 years technical experience at the systems level.
3 years of management experience delivering highly complex software products/projects preferred.
Job duties are varied and complex requiring independent judgment. Demonstrated experience working in matrix environments (that is, where direct line authority is not present) is also preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication.
Experience in implementing Oracle or any other large complex software is preferred.
Desire to learn about Big Data , it's market and applications, is a must

Manage the development and implementation process of a specific company product.
Manage the development and implementation process of a specific company product involving departmental or cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of new or existing products. Plan and direct schedules and monitor budget/spending. Monitor the project from initiation through delivery. Organize the interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget constraints. Assign and monitor work of systems analysis and program staff, providing technical support and direction.
Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Seven years of project management, product design or related experience preferred.
