Job Description

Responsibilities:

Strategic / Technical Task:

Define and implement strategies, objectives, and general guidelines for product development (including

strategy implementation and global procedures).

Discussion and agreements with the managers of the organization in establishing the organizational and

location goals

Coordinate activities with the other development centers, identifying synergies and or specializations.

Ensure the fulfillment of the processes and methods established by the BU.

Human Relations Management Tasks:

Plan and evaluate the performance of its collaborators on a regular basis according to the

corresponding procedure.

Plan , coordinate and ensure the training of its collaborators so they can be competitive and that it

matches their career plan.

Defines, monitors and evaluates the goals of the personnel under him/her, ensuring these contribute to the Business Unit and R&D Guadalajara.

Gives support to the professional development of the people he or she is in charge of.

Participates in the selection of personnel.

Project related Tasks (70% of the time):

Lead Systems Requirement Management in the project

Responsible for all aspects of System Requirements and System Architecture Engineering

Analyze customer requirements and change requests to derive and develop itemized, feasible and testable System Requirements that fully describe/specify the system that compromised from hardware, software and mechanical components

Develop a System Architecture representing a simplified solution that fulfills the System requirements within the given constraints and describes the system behavior and structures as well as the system component functions, interactions and interfaces

Provide project estimate quotations for all system requirements and architecture activities

Interfaces with PM Engineering, System test team, Functional Safety Manager, subsystem Requirements Engineers, subsystem Architects and subsystem test teams

Responsible for base lining system requirements and providing traceability of system requirements to stake holder requests and system architecture

Translates customer requirements into designs; guides design decisions; recommends advanced new designs and/or process or changes to existing designs and/or process to meet requirements.

Participate in developing functional and interface system requirements and their verification.

Develop, maintain and communicate software/system development content and time estimates.

Provide support to application teams for identification of root cause for issues and corrective solutions.

Lead technical discussions with internal and external customers, prepare and present response.

Follow design, verification and validation process and participate in Automotive SPICE assessments.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:

BS in Electrical, Computer Engineering or related engineering disciplines.

Minimum 5 years of Systems Engineering experience.

Several years of cross-functional engineering work experience (hardware / software) required

Solid experience in Requirements Engineering required

Solid experience in architectural design required

Proficiency in DOORS and Enterprise Architect required

Knowledge and proficiency in the Automotive field required, in particular transmissions preferred

Knowledge of ISO26262

Preferred:

Experience in System level debugging, in both lab and vehicle settings.

Experience in Electromechanical Products with preferred experience in automotive electronics.

Experience with 8 – 32 bit microcontrollers

Experience in A/D, PWM, Motor Control, CAN and SPI.

Advanced knowledge through extensive hands­-on experience in embedded systems

Experience in creating value through the ability to integrate knowledge from different areas of specialized knowledge

Knowledge of methodology and tools for description and simulation / validation of system architectures (UML, SysML, Rational System Architect / Designer, Enterprise Architect).
