Job Description


Responsible to lead and Manage the day to day activities of the Corporate Supplier Quality Team for Decorative Plastics , in both Component Introduction ( CI) and Category (CAT) activities for the North American Region.


Manage a team of 10 Engineers, dedicated to Component Introduction and Category work.

With the support of the Team, this position is responsible for:

Perform and follow up VDA 6.3 audits with Suppliers, the assessment and introduction of potential new suppliers in close cooperation with BU Supplier Management, Category Management, Business Unit R&D and Purchasing.

Keep the PLD Supplier Panel for the region aligned with the Purchasing Category Strategy.

Support the Definition and implementation of category specific quality standards.

Support Plant Supplier Quality (SQM CI/SP) in case of escalation for respective categories within the SQM M organization, internally /externally as required.

If necessary, initiate and manage supplier improvement programs with Supplier’s top Management and change management for running production components.

Responsible of Component Introduction (CI) activities such as; Supplier Maturity Evaluation, Design review with R&D, Supplier Component Review, Sourcing decision, APQP, Run@rate, PPAP for components on the assigned category.

Job Requirements


Bachelor degree in Engineering.

Extensive knowledge of AIAG requirements, Quality Tools & Lean Manufacturing

(ISO / TS 16949, ISO 14001, VDA 6.3, Six Sigma & SPC).

Advanced English (Fluent, written and spoken).

German would be considered desirable.

Computer skills (MS­Office, MS­Project, Minitab or equivalent, Visio)

Willingness to travel in Domestic and International up to 50% from working time.

Knowledge of Manufacturing processes for Decorative plastics.


Minimum of 3 years in a similar or related position (e.g. ­ Quality Engineering,

Supplier Quality, Quality Auditing, Quality Management, Project Management,

Manufacturing planning, Local Project Leader).

At least 3 years of Experience in leading people (Engineers , Direct reports) is highly desirable.

Proven experience in leading, coaching and discipline team members.

Experience with component/product introduction in automotive environment.

Experience with New Product Launch and Release of new processes.

Must exhibit the ability to lead and mentor suppliers as necessary for

Improvements in Quality.

Experience in Automotive Industry

Category related technical knowledge and working experience is strongly preferred ( Functional Plastics Mechatronic, manufacturing processes ,etc, etc).

Excellent Networking skills, to build strong working relationships with BU's and Manufacturing locations.
