Johnson Controls Plant Purchasing Supervisor in Durango, Mexico
RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL: Responsible in accordance with established policies, controls, accepted practices and purchasing techniques, to search out and procure materials components, supplies and devices at the most favorable terms consistent with quality standards and timely receipt in order to ensure business needs. COMMITMENT TO QUALITY: Purchase from certified suppliers and evaluate for their ability to provide materials and services that conform to specified requirements and JCI standards of integrity and ethic practices.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES: 1. Supervise, develop and motivate a team of buyers. 2. Manage procurement of material to meet the goals of JCI regarding days on hand of inventory, lead time, transportation, quality and customer requirements 3. Responsible of keep the integrity of the inventory in terms of obsolesces and excess. 4. Assure policy, strategies and procedures are being implemented and maintained, as well as methods, procedures are implemented to maintain accurate inventory. 5. Development of plans, procedures and methods to material purchase 6. SAP systems support, maintenance and continuous improvement 7. Reconciles differences in quantity or specifications that may develop on invoices and receiving reports. 8. Establishes and maintains a harmonious relationship with vendors and customers 9. Assists in the evaluation of alternate material and process changes with design engineering functions. 10. Performs special projects related to function as assigned. 11. Effective Team Leadership and promotes employee engagement 12. Support the execution of global sourcing plans focused on delivering results to key objectives: Cost Reductions, Working Capital Improvement, and Improved Material Availability. 13. Interface collaboratively with Demand Planning, Sourcing, Supply Chain Management and Manufacturing organizations. 14. Follows all company safety policies and procedures and attend all safety trainings related to the job.
• Bachelor degree in Engineering or Business related area and six years’ experience. • Thorough knowledge of Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma • Knowledge of SAP MM Module in a proficiency level • Experience on MRP and Replenishment inventory control systems. • Quality-focused and Service attitude with an appropriate sense of urgency and attention to details. • Good analytical and communications skills. • Leadership experience. • APICS certification is a plus • Fully Bilingual • Ability to develop and motivate direct reports • Willingness and ability to work on both individual and team projects is required.
