Avnet, Inc. Inplant Store Specialist - Cd. Tijuana in CHH, Mexico

Job Purpose:

This is a Customer on site position that provides customer support related to customer requests for material planning and availability material handling quality assurance operational excellence and continuous improvement activities. The individuals in this position interface daily with the customers purchasing warehousing quality and operations departments. They drive performance in support of the Scope of Service in place for the customer as well as Avnet's internal performance metrics.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Interfaces with customers daily regarding service issues and execution of customer commitments related to the Inplant Store.

  • Analyzes demand and consumption and ensures correct levels of inventory are in stock in the Inplant Store.

  • Expedites deliveries of products when necessary.

  • Analyzes and decides on correct incoming/outgoing freight methods.

  • Minimizes cost of incoming and outgoing freight.

  • Ensures receipts are processed within guidelines.

  • Dispositions discrepant material appropriately.

  • Ensures excess inventory is returned within guidelines.

  • Drives implementation of Point of Use Replenishment System (POURS) or other tools that will automate transactional activity receipts replenishment and billings.

  • Manages cycle count process within guidelines.

  • Reconciles cycle count discrepancies.

  • Ensures reports are filed within guidelines.

  • Balances and prioritizes work load requirements.

  • Issues product to customer based on pre determined service agreements.

  • Processes billings as product is issued to customer.

  • Executes through Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) process; including appropriate team members.

  • Ensures operational quality metrics are met.

  • Performs root cause analysis and corrective actions when necessary.

  • Ensures Inplant Store is Electro Static Discharge (ESD) Compliant including audits and documentation.

  • Ensure effective disposition of End of Life (EOL) products to customer.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of Material Requirement Planning (MRP) system functionality.

  • Knowledge of quality system relevance.

  • Knowledge of operational system functionality.

  • Knowledge of warehousing processes.

  • Oral and written communication skills.

  • Inventory management skills.

  • Skilled in Microsoft Office applications.

Work Experience:

Three years of job-related materials management experience.

SAP experience preferred.

Education and Certification(s):

A High School graduate or an equivalent combination of formal education and directly related experience is required.
